Here are some links and lists of useful stuff your first few hours playing New Leaf!
(As compiled by someone who has not yet played New Leaf; I’ll edit once that’s changed if necessary. Lots of links here, most open to a new window.)
★Town Names★
* = indicates that this generator does not limit output to eight characters, so don’t get your heart set on something too long!
- QR Crossing Town Name Generator
- Non-AC Specific Place Name Generator*
- This one if full of real-world place names*
- Elizabethan Place Names*
- Fantasy Place Names*
- This one is a little less pleasant to look at and isn’t a generator, but has tons of four-letter words you can combine to make a town name.
These are the town names I thought of but decided not to go with:
- Wintry: Snowvale/Yuleglow
- Floral: Amaranth/Aster/Larkspur/Lavender/Honeybee
- Gems: Garnet/Opal/Amethyst/Rubyview/Opulence
- Celestial: Moonbeam/Starglow/Lumalee
And some EverQuestian names because EQ2 will always hold a special place in my heart:Antonica, Qeynos, Mistmoor, Halas, Kelethin★Town Tunes★
- You can easily compose your own here!
- Animal Crossing Community has TONS (23,993 pages and counting, don’t forget about the handy little search bar feller)
- Another huge heap! I dunno about the overlap, and there’s no search bar, but you can use ctrl+f!
(If anyone musically inclined is doing requests for folks, let me know and I’ll add your url!)
★Upgrading and Unlocking Guide★
Enormous thanks to potato-crossing for providing the community with all of this in one place!★Great QR Sources★
While these won’t be immediately helpful, you should be able to use them in the next couple of weeks! Also keep in mind this list does not even scratch the surface and I’ll be doing a more complete post dedicated to QR codes probably next month!
- ablesistah
- qrcute
- bidoofcrossing
- New Leaf Men’s Fashion
- Codecrossing (lots of paths and interior stuff)
- Keep an eye on QRCrossing!
★The New Leaf Boards on Animal Crossing Community★
(ACC also has Grownup Gamers Boards which are useful if you’re looking for friend codes from folks who aren’t kids or teens, and if you ARE looking for kids and teens that’s okay too, as all of their boards are moderated to be family friendly.)
This is everything I’ve got so far! If anyone knows of another resource that belongs with these, feel free to let me know and I’ll add it asap! Thanks for reading and hope this is helpful for some of you!
Cheers,
Catie
Edit: If this is helpful to you, a reblog would be great, because that way I can maybe get word from more folks who know more stuff which can then be added to this post and make it yet more helpful. Thanks in advance!

a new leaf 1.0 by bonnibelbubblegum
this is an animal crossing theme! though it can be used for other things. i included a lot of animal crossing aspects to it, but you could change them in the html if you really wanted to. this theme is pretty custimizeable, and i’m pretty proud of it.
features:
- solid color or image background
- optional sidebar image (theme looks best when in use)
- 2 customizeable sidebars
- border around sidebar
- home, ask, submit, and about links
- navigation bar with seven optional links
- rounded edges/photos/portraits
- post shadows
note about the navigation/buttons: they can’t be moved from their spot in the theme unless you edit the html itself, so to fix this problem i included an px option so that you can move the sidebar back above it.
if you have any concerns or issues, please contact me!!!
i hope your day is sweet
